The K793DN2RN-180.0W is a high-power 793nm 180W fiber-coupled laser diode — the highest-power 793nm module in the ePhotonics catalog — delivering CW output through a 200μm core, 0.22 NA fiber with ferrule termination. Like the 4W sibling, it targets thulium (Tm³⁺)-doped fiber laser pumping at the 793nm absorption band, with a 1900–2100nm feedback isolation band (30dB) specifically protecting against back-reflected Tm fiber laser signal light. At 180W output, this module serves as a primary pump source in high-power Tm fiber laser architectures producing watts to tens of watts of 1900–2100nm mid-IR laser output. The 793nm 180W module achieves an exceptional slope efficiency of 19 W/A , while requiring a relatively modest maximum operating voltage of 45V at a typical current of just 1.6A operating current (threshold 11A typical, max 12.5A). The spot ratio specification of 90% minimum / 95% typical at 0.15/0.22 NA — identical in structure to the 4W module but with a tighter minimum guarantee — confirms the high beam quality required for efficient coupling into low-NA Tm fiber laser pump combiner ports at high power levels. The spectral width of 4nm typical (max 5nm FWHM) is tighter than the 6nm standard on 808nm high-power modules, and the ferrule fiber termination (vs. bare on the 4W model) provides a polished, connector-body-free fiber end suited for direct fusion splicing or coupling into pump combiner ferrule ports. The operating case temperature is restricted to 20–30°C — narrower than the 15–35°C on most other modules — reflecting the thermal management demands of high-power 793nm diode operation.
