The K808F14CC-8.000W is an 808nm 8W multi-function detachable diode laser — the most feature-rich module in the ePhotonics 808nm lineup, engineered specifically for medical laser applications. The “detachable” designation refers to its SMA905 fiber connector interface, enabling the treatment fiber to be disconnected and replaced between procedures — a critical requirement in clinical environments where single-use disposable fibers or procedure-specific fiber optic probes must be exchanged without replacing the laser source unit itself. Beyond the core 808nm / 8W / 400μm output, the module integrates a full medical-grade monitoring and control subsystem accessible across its 16-pin package. This includes: a TEC (max 6A / 9.8V) for active temperature stabilization, a thermistor (10kΩ ±3% at 25°C, Pins 3 & 4) for temperature feedback, a back-facet photodiode monitor (PD, 100–1000µA, Pins 6 & 7) for real-time optical power control, and a Fiber Connection Detector (FCD, Pins 11–13) that actively verifies a fiber is properly connected before and during laser operation — a patient safety interlock preventing accidental open-beam operation in a medical environment. Completing the medical feature set is a built-in 635nm visible aiming beam (≥2mW, 5V constant, Pins 14 & 15) — a red guide beam co-delivered through the same 400μm SMA905 fiber that allows the clinician to visually target the treatment area before activating the invisible 808nm therapy beam. The combination of detachable fiber, FCD safety interlock, aiming beam, TEC stabilization, and PD power monitoring makes this module a self-contained laser engine for medical device OEM integration.
