The K976DA5RN-70.00W is a high-power fiber-coupled laser diode delivering 70W of Continuous Wave (CW) output power at a center wavelength of 976nm (±3nm). Designed for laser pumping, medical, and material processing applications, this compact module combines high output power with a small 106.5μm core fiber — providing significantly higher beam brightness per watt compared to larger-core alternatives, making it ideal for tight-coupling applications into small-core gain fibers and precision optical systems. A key integration advantage of this laser diode is its built-in monitoring and control interface. The 6-pin package includes optional Thermistor pins (Pins 3 & 4) for real-time temperature monitoring of the diode junction, and optional Photodiode (PD) pins (Pins 5 & 6) for continuous optical power feedback. This allows OEM system designers to implement closed-loop power control and thermal protection directly at the module level, improving long-term reliability and system uptime without external sensing components. The module outputs through a 106.5μm core fiber (0.22 NA) with bare (no connector) termination, enclosed in 0.9mm PVC loose tubing over 180cm, with a total fiber length of 2 meters and a minimum bending radius of just 50mm. With a typical electrical-to-optical efficiency of 48% and a wide operating case temperature range of 15°C to 35°C, this air-cooled laser diode offers a compact, feature-rich solution for demanding OEM laser system integration.
